We spent an excellent few days at Tadoba with Himanshu as our naturalist / guide / host. He made us feel very welcome from the start and has an extensive knowledge of the wildlife and the National Park which he shared freely and enthusiastically with us. His knowledge of individual tigers was a real bonus as it enabled us to be “at the right place at the right time” to see them going about their natural activities. As a photographer himself, he also understood how to arrange things to get the best shots and to offer advice. Apart from the jeep safaris, Himanshu took time out to take us on a short walking “safari” in the area round the Lodge. On earlier safaris in other parks we had experienced problems with guides who had very poor English but Himanshu’s English is excellent. We would have no hesitation in recommending Himanshu and hope we may have an opportunity to have more safaris with him in the future.

I was recently on a photographic trip to Tadoba National Park in India. Himanshu was the lead guide for the group. His knowledge of the terrain and wildlife was exceptional. He knew the history of each tiger and where best to spot them. He is the consummate professional with a great personality to boot!

Himanshu is a consummate professional, remaining calm under pressure and motivated to get you the best wildlife experience possible. He has eagle eyes and an encyclopaedic knowledge of the birds and other animals in Tadoba, which brought another level to the adventure, pointing out unusual species possibly 500m away. He has excellent relations with the Tadoba officials and can get you access to the hard-to-reach places. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Upon meeting Himanshu I knew automatically that he was a dignified, respectful man and I was sure he carried the same demeanour towards nature and the animals he knew so much about. I was right. It was clear that he was a respected figure in Tadoba and it did not surprise me whatsoever. His passion for the tigers in particular and his in depth understanding of their behaviour meant that we too could understand these majestic animals with a deeper appreciation. With his help and intrinsic knowledge of the tigers, he was able to place us at the right place/right time for the best sightings, all while respecting their habitat and not disturbing their natural environment. I am sure had I more time, there would be much more to learn from Himanshu. A true naturalist able to identify all species with detailed description and answer all questions. Someone as dedicated to the preservation of nature, in a world where bureaucracy and other factors does not make it easy to do, is a privilege to meet. I can think of no one better to visit Tadoba National Park with, we are lucky to have him, as are the tigers he so deeply cares for.

I’ve just come back from a trip to Tadoba to see the tigers. Our local guide was Himanshu Bagde, and he did an excellent job. He ensured that we had tiger sightings on all but one of our game drives, and his knowledge of the local wildlife was exceptional. He was kind enough to identify 20-30 birds we had seen, including half a dozen I needed for my photographs, and he was always calm, polite and friendly – he even sang ‘Happy birthday’ to one of the other guests! All in all, he couldn’t have done his job better.

My husband and I spent 4 days at Tadoba NP in may 2017.
We staid in the tigertrails jungle lodge where mister Himanshu is manager. He is a very professional host with a great passion for wildlife, Especially the tigers in Tadoba. He likes to share his enthousiasm with the clients and involve them in all dayly activities; staying with mister Himanshu felt very relaxt and familiar. Himanshu is educating local boys to become high level employees; he himself is a very good rolemodel for them. Himanshu can tell endlessly about Tadoba NP, wildlife and helps you how to make the best pictures during a safaridrive. Himanshu is a very friendly person, who takes his responsibilities to take care of the guests with a good professional attitude and is open for feedback to improve and develop. We are very positive about mister Himanshu and do recommend to use his services. We wish Himanshu all the best for the future, Keep following your dreams, you have so much to offer! Driendly regards, Claudia and Matthieu, the Netherlands.

Himanshu was an exceptional guide during my time at Tadoba. His knowledge is outstanding and his passion is clear. He made us feel like family, not only by playing our host but by introducing us on such a personal level with the animals that he shares his life with. I am extremely grateful to him for giving me the experience of a lifetime with the people, tigers (and surprise leopard) that share the wonder that is Tadoba park.

I was fortunate to have Himanshu as my guide and host during my visit to Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. Throughout the game drives he provided excellent knowledge and details regarding all aspects of the park including the flora and fauna. It was clear that his passion for the conservation of the wildlife, region and the care of its people are paramount. Due to his extensive knowledge and experience as a naturalist I had the opportunity to sight a number of tigers and a leopard in the wild. An experience never to be forgotten.

I was so very fortunate to have Himanshu as my guide for safaris in Tadoba National Park. He has very broad knowledge not only of the flora and fauna of the park, but of the nature hospitality business. Thanks to Himanshu’s knowledge of tiger behavior, we were able to see a mother and her cubs on more than one occasion, as well as a rare sloth bear and many, many exquisite birds. He was also very able to find locations where outstanding photographs could be taken. If you go to Taboda, and you get the chance to have Himanshu as a guide, seize it! You won’t regret your time with this knowledgeable and personable man.

Himanshu is a naturalist par excellence.
I have known Himanshu from 2015 when I toured Tadoba National Park, Maharashtra with my husband. Together we have absolutely enjoyed Himanshu’s company on all our safaris. He has thorough knowledge of his fortay and that coupled with a perfect personality proved to be the best. In 2016, we requested Himanshu to help us organise our annual wildlife trip to Kanha and Pench in Madhya Pradesh. This again he did with an absolute flair. The entire trip was so perfectly planned from the beginning until the very end that we had nothing to worry about the logistics. Himanshu introduced us to a very well educated naturalist in Pench who helped us understand all the knitty gritties of wildlife.
We would rate Himanshu highest in Knowledge base, Client communication, Wild life safari – excursion execution and management. We would certainly travel again with him and recommend all those who are keen to experience wildlife to connect with him.

I had the chance of working with Himanshu last February in Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve. He not only strived to ensure that his guests would get the best chance to see tigers from a respectful approach to wildlife and the environment but also took great care that all his guests were at all times taken care of and their needs met. He was a great character to learn from upon my arrival to the reserve and during my training period. If you want to have an unforgettable tiger safari in Tadoba, do not hesitate to contact him to guide you and show you the park´s natural wonders.

We spent 4 days in Tadoba, and we were lucky to have Himanshu as our guide, but he brings so much more to the experience than that simple word says. He is an expert naturalist who is familiar with the birds, grasses, insects as well as the more obvious birds and larger mammals. He is always looking for the best experience, and your comfort, which is important when you are spending dawn til dusk in a cold bumpy open top small jeep! always great company and willing to discuss all aspects of India and its wildlife.
But best of all, his experience will lead you to Tigers! Certainly not easy to find, we saw more Tigers with Himanshu in 4 days than we had in the last 10 days of our trip in other parks. He diligently tracks, waits and follows the various jungle signs, like alarm calls, to bring you the best chance of seeing a Tiger. We saw a mother and cubs twice, really close….plus a leopard, sloth bear, wild dogs and so man other birds and beasts. My pictures are here http://rif-wildlifephotography.tumblr.com/
As he says, I can confirm, he is “A park naturalist, conservationist, wildlife tracker, historian, social worker and also a mentor to people interested in the wildlife”.
My last comment is that he is also keenly aware and interested in helping photographers…best light, best shot…he really knows his stuff.

We spent a week at Tadoba National Park guided by Himanshu, and saw three different tigers (!!!), wild dogs and gaurs alongside many deer and birds, an amazing experience! I previously visited India and its national parks (for almost one-and-a-half years altogether) and Himanshu is probably the best guide I know. He has very good knowledge of the Indian fauna together with an in-depth understanding of animal behaviour – as the tigers moved into the woodland and out of our view he was able to accurately predict what they will be doing so that the driver could move our vehicle exactly to the spot where the tiger re-appeared! I have no hesitation to recommend him warmly professionally, and would like to add that he is jolly good company, too! He is a very kind and warm-hearted person, and above all, a very professional and competent guide and passionate naturalist. Many thanks from Austria!

Dear Himanshu,
We would like to thank you for our trip such a memorable one, we have really enjoyed your company and the laugh we had together and it feels as though we are leaving a friend behind rather than a tour organiser.
Our apologies if we put you under pressure with the list we had to see and “We are not going back until we see……..” but you lived up to our expectations and this afternoon was amazing.
